Clean Agent Suppression Systems
Code minimum fire protection systems, such as fire sprinklers, provide protection for your personnel and building structure. But, when it comes to high-value assets such as equipment, data, or irreplaceable items, water can be just as damaging as fire.
FM-200
For speed in suppressing fires, reducing damages, saving on floor space and allowing visibility, Fike is the clear choice. Our Clean Agent Fire Protection System, using Dupont FM-200 as the extinguishing agent, leaves no residue and doesn't require costly clean-up, unlike sprinklers and other fire protection systems. And it discharges in 10 seconds or less, extinguishing a fire quickly and effectively.
Fike's Clean Agent System with FM-200 (also known as HFC-227ea), uses Fike's patented rupture disc valve design offering additional flexibility, effectiveness and speed. That translates into minimal equipment / facility damage and little or no business interruption.
Fike's Clean Agent Fire Suppression Systems are great in applications ranging from telecommunications and data processing to switch gear rooms, military applications and cell sites to high-tech medical applications. FM-200 fire suppression is also a widely accepted replacement for Halon 1301.

ECARO-25
Halon 1301 has been utilized over several decades as the preferred agent in automatic fire suppression systems for the protection of critical business assets such as computer rooms, record storage areas, electrical equipment, and other similiar applications. The production of Halon 1301 has ceased due to its effect on the environment. In addition, the European Community has banned the use of Halon products after December 31, 2003. Although a similar ban is not in effect in the United States, the need to replace Halon 1301 for the protection of the environment is a priority.
The Fike ECARO-25 System, containing DuPont FE-25, provides end-users with the easiest and most cost effective drop-in solution to their Halon replacement needs. Due to the physical properties of FE-25 and the superior performance of Fike's fast-acting rupture valve assembly, ECARO-25 can work with your existing Halon pipe network. Just replace the nozzles and containers to transform your Halon 1301 fire protection system with ECARO-25
Total Flooding of Class-A Hazards
FE-25 can be used in applications where people are normally present (normally occupied spaces) for Class-A fire assets. Class-A fire assets represent greater than 90% of all commercial protection scenarios. Examples of applications where FE-25 would be an excellent choice for a total flood fire suppression system where people are present include: computer rooms, telecommunication switch stations and facilities, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, data processing centers, clean rooms, industrial process control rooms, museums, libraries, and historical sites.
Total Flooding of Class-B Hazards
FE-25 can also be used to suppress Class-B fire hazards for areas that are not normally occupied or that have limited access. Examples of these applications include: pleasure craft engine compartments, petrochemical facilities, chemical storage rooms, paint lockers, and other applications with hydrocarbon-based materials.
ProInert
Since its European introduction in 2003, Fike's innovative ProInert has become widely accepted as one of the best performing, most cost-effective, and environmentally friendly inert gas fire extinguishing systems. Now that same technology is available in the United States, and other parts of the world requiring UL and FM approval.
Fike's ProInert offers all the benefits of other inert gas systems with several significant design improvements - enhancements that not only mean a superior product, but savings to your bottom line!
Most inert gas systems discharge from the nozzle into the protected space with a high surge flow rate, creating a hazardous pressure peak. These systems use pressure reducers further down the pipe network in order to mitigate safety issues, but also require both high-pressure and low-pressure piping.
ProInert Is Better
Because of its unique patented valve assembly, the ProInert agent enters the protected room within the industry required 60 seconds, but at a steady flow rate -- preventing destructive turbulence from occurring. This constant flow rate means you can use small-diameter, low pressure (and less expensive) piping from the inert gas container, all the way to the nozzle. And the necessary venting area is much smaller - reducing installation costs by as much as 60% on venting hardware.
ProInert's patented constant flow rate valve translates into a system that is not only safer for your staff and facility, but also saves you money.
Other ProInert Inert Gas System Benefits:
- Zero Ozone Depletion for maximum environmentalism
- Superior design allows for convenient long pipe runs
- Constant flow rate reduces hazardous pressure peaks
- Globally Approved
- Typically requires less floor space than other inert gas systems
- USGBC LEED Recognized
